Alain Clément at the Palazzo Farnese in Rome

A monumental work presented in an exceptional setting
Since 17 September, a monumental free-hanging painting from 1982 by Alain Clément has been on display at the Palazzo Farnese, the French Embassy in Rome. The work was acquired in 1983 by the Fonds National d’Art Contemporain (FNAC), whose collection is now managed by the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (CNAP).
CNAP’s mission includes making contemporary artworks available to cultural institutions in France and abroad. In this context, the work by Alain Clément has been placed in a particularly dignified and historically significant setting. The architecture of the Palazzo Farnese provides an impressive backdrop for the artist’s powerful pictorial language and underscores the relevance of his work within contemporary art.
