From October 9 to 11, 2026, Art Weekend Nuremberg brings together the city’s galleries and cultural institutions for a weekend dedicated to art. Featuring exhibitions, guided tours and a diverse program of events, the weekend offers a wonderful opportunity to discover Nuremberg’s vibrant art scene.
The weekend kicks off with the official opening on Friday, October 9, at 6 PM at the Heimatministerium. Opening remarks will be given by Christiane Plempel-Scholl, Deputy Head of Office and Senior Ministerial Councillor, and Prof. Dr. Julia Lehner, former Deputy Mayor of Nuremberg and former Head of Cultural Affairs.
We are delighted to be participating in this year’s Art Weekend Nuremberg at two locations. As part of the sculpture exhibition at the Heimatministerium, we will present bronze sculptures by Helge Leiberg. At the same time, we are dedicating a solo exhibition titled “Stop Motion” to the artist at our gallery in Nuremberg.
At the heart of the exhibition is the human figure in motion. Leiberg’s figures dance, leap, encounter one another or seem to pause for a fleeting moment. Yet his work explores more than the physical movement of the body. Personal experiences, memories and biographical traces repeatedly find their way into his paintings. In Leiberg’s work, the human figure becomes a visual cipher for movement, human connection and emotion. It is precisely the interplay between dynamic motion and stillness that creates the tension reflected in the exhibition title, “Stop Motion”.
