Dietrich Klinge at the Art Hall Schweinfurt

Corespondentia assonare – Across Time and Space: Encounters with the Other

In the exhibition Corespondentia assonare, Klinge places his works in a cross-epochal and cross-cultural dialogue with historical artifacts as well as with contemporary positions from his own collection. Transformation emerges as a central artistic principle, rendering bodies, forms, and meanings perceptible as anthropological constants. Klinge understands sculpture as a bearer of memory, alterity, and existential experience—as a continuous approach toward the unfamiliar within the self.
Introductory remarks will be given by Sebastian Remelé, Lord Mayor of the City of Schweinfurt; Prof. Dr. Kai Uwe Schierz, Academic Advisor in the Department of Urban Development, Culture and World Heritage of the City of Erfurt; and Anna Bode of the Bode Galerie.
The exhibition will be on view at the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt from March 6 through June 30, 2026.
