Exhibition Dietrich Klinge – „a ters“

You and your friends are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition in the Gottesackerkapelle Crailsheim, Germany on Thursday, July 11, 2024, 7 pm.

Speaker: Alfred Meyerhuber, Ansbach (Germany)

As one of the few historical buildings in Old Crailsheim to have been spared the destruction of the war, the late gothic Gottesackerkapelle chapel is located in the old Crailsheim cemetery on the edge of the town center. Due to its centuries-long use as a burial chapel, it is an architectural testimony to death and sacrifice, but despite its location in the middle of the town, it also conveys peace and devotion. Dietrich Klinge’s sculptures enter into a dialog with the chapel, its atmosphere and its history. They respond to the space, but also emphasize the mood emanating from it through their “beauty and vulnerability” (Willi Stöhr). Klinge’s bronzes create a “larger secular-religious context” that embraces the viewer.
