Figur 499 - Dietrich Klinge
This is a further exemplar out of the Daphne cycle. This sculpture is determined and full of beauty, just as the mythological Daphne was. Because of the difficile headdress it is casted as a unique. Because of her appearance, she was chased by Apollo and to be relieved from this she begs her father to metamorphose her into a laurel tree. So, her hair was transformed into these branches and her body into the trunk.
