Ikone - Dietrich Klinge
An eikon is a portrait of a holy figure used as a devotional image, first of all in eastern orthodox churches. They are a figurative and essential connection between the believer and God. Klinge combines the most important Christian symbol, the cross, with the stress on the portrait which determines the eikon. With the small rectangular plates he reminds to iconostasis in orthodox churches but by using no further depiction he casts doubt on this iconolatry.
