The heads are a very important group of works inside Dietich Klinge’s oeuvre. His fanciful human figures maybe the main part in his sculptural work. But besides from them he focuses on singular parts of the human body, especially the hands, the feet or, like here, the head. The head contains the brain which is, together with the heart, the most important organ oft he human physiology. So Klinge’s heads are portraits of an idea of a creative, fertile and inventively human being. The faces are full of expression including the complete range of emotions, from grief up to happiness and silence.
