Willi Siber – Reflecting Light

Willi Siber’s works resist clear categorization. Moving between painting, sculpture, and object art, they emerge from his sustained exploration of material, surface, and perception. At the heart of his practice is not so much the individual medium itself, but rather the question of how form, color, light, and space interact—and how these relationships continually shift as the viewer moves around the work.

Siber’s work often begins with the close observation of natural phenomena: reflections on the surface of water, organic structures, or the changing effects of light within a space. Rather than translating these impressions literally, however, he uses them as a point of departure for an independent exploration of materiality and visual effect.

His works are developed through lengthy experimental processes in which materials are pushed to their limits. Wood, steel, resin, and lacquer are removed from their conventional functions and take on an almost autonomous presence.
