Jo-Hyun Koo was born in Deagu, Korea, in 1955. He studied at the College of Arts in Seol, Korea, and at the University of Fine Arts in Osaka, Japan. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kyoto Seika University and a Master’s degree from Kyu-su Sa-Kyo University in Kyoto, Japan. The artist is concerned with the two-dimensional pictorial surface as the origin of all pictoriality. His works have a spiritual and mental function in the tradition of Asian culture.
