Blumen I (Hommage á Henri Matisse) - Udo Kaller
The Nuremberg artist Udo Kaller has created a homage to Henri Matisse with his print “Flowers I”. These works reflect Udo Kaller’s characteristic joy in the variation of a theme and show his intense and conscious perception, which is also transferred to the viewer.

The work is an example of Udo Kaller’s intensive exploration of form and color, line and surface, as well as composition and structure. His works are unmistakable and independent, which has made him known far beyond Nuremberg and the region.

With “Flowers I”, Udo Kaller consciously quotes the style of Henri Matisse but interprets it in his own way. While Matisse often worked with spontaneous, playful arrangements and silhouettes, Udo Kaller relies on clear structures and a controlled design but remains close to the model in his choice of colors and formal language.
