Thomas Bayrle (born 1937 in Berlin) is a German artist known for his work in the fields of graphic art, painting and media art. His works are inspired by serial patterns, repetition and mass culture, often with socio-critical references. Bayrle is considered a pioneer of German pop art and computer art. He taught for many years at the Städelschule in Frankfurt and exhibited internationally, including at the documenta and the Venice Biennale. His work continues to influence digital and visual art to this day.
