senza modo III - Wolfgang G. Bühler

In senza modo III, Wolfgang Bühler creates a monumental mountain world that is not tied to any real place, but arises entirely from the artist’s imagination. Massive peaks emerge from mist and clouds, combining a powerful physical presence with an almost unreal sense of distance. The finely structured surfaces of the mountains stand in striking contrast to the atmospheric dissolution of sky and mist. The result is a landscape suspended between close observation of nature and free imagination, yet one that conveys the grandeur and elemental force of the high mountains with remarkable immediacy. It was precisely this convincing interplay between reality and inner vision that also fascinated Reinhold Messner, who invited Bühler to present a solo exhibition at his museum in Bolzano.

senza modo III thus becomes a compelling vision of the mountains as a natural space, a surface for projection, and an experience of the sublime.
